ICMM members record 287 fatalities in 2019

The International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) on Thursday released the 2019 safety data of its company members, who reported 287 occupational fatalities, a marked increase from the 50 fatalities recorded in 2018 and 51 fatalities recorded in 2017. ICMM said in a media release to Mining Weekly that its members shared an unwavering commitment to improving health and safety performance, towards a goal of zero harm.
