Bridgerton: Extraordinary People, Extraordinary Rings

Dearest Reader,

While the ton are abuzz with the latest gossip regarding upcoming seasons of Bridgerton, this author is inclined to share which engagement rings our favorite leading ladies would sport… should they shop at Lauren B. However, gentle reader, before you continue on, know that there will be *spoilers* ahead.

What is Bridgerton

Set during the Regency Era in Britain, this romantic drama tells the story of how the Bridgerton siblings find love while also finding themselves. Taking place in London, the first season revolves around the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family, Daphne, as she steps into high society to find a husband. Daphne is named the Diamond of the Season and must compete against friends and rivals to find a suitable partner.

Following the lust and romance from the first season, Bridgerton’s sophomore season follows the story of Daphne’s older brother, Anthony, who is on a mission to marry by the end of the season—come hell or high water. What he does not anticipate is falling in love.

The series is in part narrated by the anonymous Lady Whistledown, a writer who publishes the secrets of all the elite in her weekly paper. While everyone tries to go about their business in high society, they must watch out for listening ears and peering eyes as no one knows who Lady Whistledown could be.

Daphne Bridgerton, Duchess of Hastings

The first season introduces viewers to Daphne Bridgerton, the fourth Bridgerton child and eldest daughter. Played by Phoebe Dynevor, Daphne is very delicate and feminine. Her signature color throughout the show was blue as she was often seen in simple yet elegant, blue silk gowns.

When Daphne meets the Duke of Hastings, someone who has sworn of marriage, they fake their courtship to draw the eyes and envy of other suitors to Daphne and avert those of other debutantes and their ‘mamas’ away from the Duke. As in every romance story, the two end up falling in love—not before some hiccups.

With Daphne’s Diamond status and her new regal title as Duchess of Hastings, this writer thinks it only appropriate to give our leading lady a three-stone ring worthy of such honor. With her signature color as the center stone, this blue sapphire and diamond three-stone ring would be perfect for our Duchess.

Eloise Bridgerton

Bridgerton Season 2 Eloise

The fifth Bridgerton child and second eldest daughter, Eloise, is nothing like her older sister Daphne; full of rebellion, Eloise longs to continue her studies and values education over finding a husband.

The first season introduces Eloise who is on a mission to discover the true identity of Lady Whistledown while her older sister tries to find a husband. Not afraid to stand out, this precarious Bridgerton sister both dislikes and envies the writer for being a woman who has the freedom to do what she wants and a flourishing business.

Season two finds Eloise in her debut social season struggling to live up to her sister’s reputation as the diamond. Still eager to unearth the secrets of Lady Whistledown, Eloise finds herself entrapped in scandal when she gets too close. Unbothered by what the town thinks of her, Eloise is conflicted between disappointing her mother and following her heart… wherever and whomever that may lead her to.

Simple and not a fan grandeur, this writer believes Eloise would prefer an unpretentious engagement ring, should she ever choose to marry. Henceforth, Eloise should be adorned with a Round Moissanite Bezel Set ring. Practical and simple, this ring is everything unassuming and beautiful at the same time.

Miss Kate Sharma, Viscountess Bridgerton

Bridgerton Season 2's Kate Actress Reacts To Fan Response To Character

Kathani Sharma, better known as Miss Kate Sharma, grew up in India without wealth. When her father died, her stepmother took her in and raised her as her own, alongside Kate’s half-sister, Edwina. From a young age, it was Kate’s job to ensure Edwina became a lady and marry well to ensure her future.

Using the last of their money to travel to England, the Sharmas travel from India to England so Edwina may have her debut in High Society. While her younger sister Edwina may have been named diamond of the season, it is inevitably Kate who wins the affections of none other than Anthony Bridgerton, the most eligible bachelor of the season.

Like Eloise, Kate is not focused on finding love for herself nor does she prioritize majesty in her personal life. However, marrying the Viscount ensures she will be taken care of generously and lavishly. Kate’s refined beauty and strong-willed nature lead us to believe that she would delight in a radiant diamond ring with a split band setting.

Miss Edwina Sharma

Season two also introduces us to Miss Edwina Sharma, Kate’s younger half-sister. Unbeknownst to her, the future of the entire Sharma family relies on Edwina marrying well.

Named the diamond of the season, Edwina is the first Sharma sister to catch the eye of Viscount Bridgerton as he is intent on marrying the diamond—whomever that may be. Doe-eyed and delicate, Edwina is equal parts innocent and young yet educated and refined—a true diamond.

Incredibly feminine and a true lover of the color pink, Edwina yearns to find a true love match. Full of romantic ideals and gentle nature, this writer cannot deny that a Morganite Oval ring would be the perfect match for Miss Edwina Sharma. Adorned with diamonds as a note to her exclusive status, this ring would definitely be worthy of a princess *cough cough*.

Penelope Featherington

Bridgerton Season 2 Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington

Ah yes, Penelope Featherington. Best friends with Eloise Bridgerton, Penelope is the youngest Featherington sister. She made her debut into high society alongside her two older sisters in the same season as Daphne Bridgerton. The end of the first season reveals Penelope as none other than Lady Whistledown herself.

The second season presents Penelope trying to hide her identity as Lady Whistledown as more people are trying to uncover her secret. Equipped with a combination of fear and anger, Penelope finally shows her true colors.

Speaking of true colors, Penelope is always seen wearing yellow. During the Regency Era, yellow was one of the most fashionable colors. Symbolically, the color represents jealousy and deceit, along with intellect and ‘new life.’

While Pen has expressed her distaste for the color, this writer still thinks it fitting to keep part of her ring yellow as an homage to who she truly is. Additionally, to depict her secret double life, I think none other than a Diamond Duo ring would be apt.

Romantic and different from the rest, if Pen cannot wear her heart on her sleeve, she should definitely wear it on her finger in the place of a yellow diamond heart. The emerald cut diamond showcases Penelope’s elegance and sophistication.

Queen Charlotte

Bridgerton

Arguably the most iconic character to come from Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte is everything extravagant and powerful. Her ability to command a room is undoubtedly due to her personality and should not just be attributed to her title as Queen.

Adorned in the most precious jewels and gowns, the Queen is seldom seen as less than perfect. While one might think the Queen’s word held the ultimate power, it was truly Lady Whistledown who captivated this royal the most. Intent on finding Lady Whistledown before anyone else, Queen Charlotte was determined to put an end to the gossip writer all the while enjoying every word.

Unassuming, Queen Charlotte and King George III were a true love match. Their devotion to each other was one of the most touching highlights of season two. Because of her splendor, love, and beauty, we believe the Queen would adorn a very unique ring. An acknowledgment of another royal, this writer is inclined to believe the Queen would choose a pear-shaped diamond, like that of Empress Josephine of France.

Completely surrounded by diamonds, the graduating halo on this ring signifies the ever-growing wigs worn by the Queen and her wealth.
