Mountain Province to Sell “Exceptional” 151-Carat Rough from Gahcho Kué
Mountain Province has announced that it intends to put up for sale a rare 151-carat colored diamond during its upcoming September sale, Rough & Polished reports.
The 151.60-carat octahedron gem, which has “exceptional clarity,” was mined at Gahcho Kué in Canada’s Northwest Territories. It will be offered for sale alongside 90 individual special rough diamonds recovered from the same mine. According to the report, the September sale “represents the largest offering of +10.8 carat gem quality diamonds offered by the Company to date.”
Reid Mackie, the Company’s Vice President Diamond Marketing commented: “[…] These gems are highly coveted by collectors around the globe not only for their beauty but increasingly, for their Canadian origin.”
