Lucapa’s 170-Carat Pink Gem – The Largest Found in 300 Years

Lucapa Diamond has found a rare 170-carat pink Type IIa diamond at its 40%-owned Lulo mine in Angola. According to Rough & Polished, the rare gem, dubbed “The Lulo Rose”, is “believed to be the largest pink diamond recovered in the last 300 years.”

The stone is the fifth largest diamond recovered to date on the Lulo concession. The 404 carat “4th February Stone” is the largest diamond to be recovered there since commercial production began in 2015.
