Lucapa Finds a Huge White Diamond at Lulo

Lucapa has unearthed a 150-carat gem at its Lulo alluvial mine in Angola. According to IDEX Online, it is a Type IIa, D-color white diamond.

This is the 36th +100-carat diamond recovered at Lulo since it began commercial production in 2015, and the fifth +100-carat from block 28 of the mine.

Recently, the Australian miner, which also operates the Mothae mine, reported rough sales of $43.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2022 – a 39% increase year-on-year. While the total number of carats sold “slipped slightly,” the average per carat price rose 49% to $2,707.
