African Diamond Producers Support New Traceability Initiative

African diamond producers are advocating for the adoption of the Authentia platform, which enhances diamond origin tracking, urging G7 nations and the Kimberley Process to support it, as reported by IDEX Online.
The African Diamond Council (ADC), which represents 18 member countries, revealed that it has worked alongside the platform’s developers for over three years. Authentia has been accessible to mining companies for the past 14 months, according to the report.
The ADC emphasized that improving diamond traceability remains a key focus for African mining countries, with the aim of promoting greater transparency and accountability within the industry.
Leveraging blockchain technology, Authentia provides tools such as certificates of origin, tracking systems, nano-tagging, and ownership verification. The platform empowers diamond-producing nations to control and share the narrative surrounding the origins of their diamonds, enabling them to establish a stronger, independent position in the global diamond market.
